I don't remember when it last erupted but if it erupted again depending on the scale would be either a horrible trgedy or be forgotten in a couple years.
If Mt. Rainier eruupted it would destroy all the cities around it and send ash into the sky where like in other volcanoes the ash will travel around the world. There would be large earthquakes throughout Washington and all the ash would cause Washington's sun to be blocked, so it would be dark all the time.
